ElShift records weekday and shift-template preferences, location suitability, leave, repeating work patterns, and weekly-hour limits. Auto Assign uses those settings when choosing employees. It does not currently offer free-form employee-entered time windows within a day.
Record the days and shifts employees prefer
A preferred weekday or shift helps Auto Assign choose between otherwise suitable employees. A day or shift marked as disliked prevents Auto Assign from assigning that employee there. A neutral choice does not change the decision.
Keep leave and repeating work cycles up to date
Recorded leave keeps an employee off the affected dates. For a repeating cycle—such as four days on followed by four days off—the pattern's start date determines where each employee is in the cycle.
Show where an employee can work
Location preferences help managers keep assignments at the sites an employee can or wants to work. Where Locations are enabled, Auto Assign uses these settings alongside each shift's location needs.
Set preferences for named shift periods
Teams that run mornings, evenings, nights, or other repeatable service periods can represent those periods as shift templates and configure employee preferences around those templates. ElShift does not currently provide arbitrary employee-entered intra-day or split time-window availability.
