Locations can represent separate worksites or work areas. Managers can set a minimum headcount by location and shift template, assign employees to a specific location, and use Auto Assign to fill those needs before general shift coverage. Multiple Locations are available on Professional and higher plans.
Separate a person's preference from their assignment
An employee can have a preference for or suitability at a Location. The schedule records the Location they are actually assigned to, and that assignment counts toward the location's coverage.
Set a staffing need for each place
A shift can have an overall headcount and separate minimums for selected Locations. Managers can see the difference between a fully staffed shift and one where a particular site still needs people.
Use Locations for sites or work areas
A Location may represent a separate physical site or an area within a site. Departments serve a different purpose: they provide separate team workspaces and management boundaries on Business and Enterprise.
