Employees start from a published shift
Employee Hub lets an employee choose a published shift and ask an eligible colleague to take it. The colleague must be in the same scheduling scope and not already assigned during that time.
A manager makes the final decision
A colleague's response does not change the schedule by itself. The manager reviews the request and decides whether to approve it.
When approved, ElShift updates the employee on the shift and republishes the affected date. Managers keep control of the final decision.
Shift changes are not limited to swaps
Employees can also report that they cannot work or ask for a different time or day. A request is not a schedule change until it has gone through the manager's decision process; some issue reports are reviewed without changing the shift.
